A simple, Shariah-compliant calculator.
Enter the current PKR value of each of your assets and liabilities. The calculator uses the silver standard for Nisab (612.36 g of silver) - recommended because it is more inclusive and benefits more recipients of Zakat.
A quick refresher
Nisab is the minimum threshold of wealth above which Zakat becomes obligatory. It is set by the Prophet ﷺ at the value of 612.36 g of silver or 87.48 g of gold. If your wealth has exceeded Nisab for a full lunar year, Zakat is wajib.
Zakat is 2.5% (i.e., 1/40th) of your Zakatable wealth that has been in your possession for one full lunar (Hijri) year. This rate has not changed since the time of the Prophet ﷺ.
On the anniversary date when your wealth first exceeded Nisab. Many Muslims pay in Ramadan because the reward of righteous deeds is multiplied in this month, though Zakat can be paid on any date.
Your primary residence, personal vehicle, household furniture, clothing in regular use, business equipment used for production (not sale), and items for personal consumption are not Zakatable.
خُذْ مِنْ أَمْوَالِهِمْ صَدَقَةً تُطَهِّرُهُمْ وَتُزَكِّيهِم بِهَا
"Take from their wealth a charity by which you purify them and cause them to increase."
ان کے مال میں سے زکوٰۃ لے لو، جس کے ذریعے تم انہیں پاک کرو اور ان کا تزکیہ کرو۔
